Pakistan’s Sufyan Khan won the International Hockey Federation’s Rising Star Award. The FIH Annual Awards Gala was held in Muscat, Oman.
The gala dinner was chaired by FIH President Tayyab Ikram and hosted by Oman Hockey Federation. Representatives of all FIH member countries participated. Pakistan was represented by Tariq Bugti and Rana Mujahid Ali.
Among the nominees for the Rising Star Award were Pakistan’s Sufyan Khan, along with players from Argentina, Spain, Germany and Belgium.
Tahir Zaman from Pakistan and Deepika from India were included in the FIH expert panel for the awards. Along with them, well-known coaches, umpires and referees from Europe, Pan America, Africa, Oceania were part of the panel.
After taking the opinions of hockey fans and media in the voting, the eligible players for the awards were selected.
Awards for the best male and female players, best male and female goalkeeper and umpire of the year 2024 were also given at the award winner gala dinner.
