Rawalpindi: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that Hukot will return to Islamabad after 45 days if the agreement is not implemented.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman while addressing a rally in Rawalpindi said that we have made the notification of IPPs a part of the agreement. Forced the government to give relief to the people. The government admitted that it will find a solution for IPPs.
Addressing the rulers, he said that you people have oppressed the people. Dropping electric bombs on the people, the people were helpless but continued the peaceful movement. They staged a sit-in and succeeded in meeting their demands.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the ministers have signed the agreement. There will be a forensic audit of IPPs contracts. All parties are involved because they have a stake.
He said that Pakistan has the musical chair of power and every government used to work with the IMF. I ask those who make the IMF a pawn, how these programs continue to run.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami said that when he spoke against the privileged class, he used to bring farmers and cultivators to stand in front. We talk of taxing the landlord only when we want the development of agriculture.
He said that our next agenda is to free Pakistan from the slavery of IMF. With the IMF there is some agreement at the top of the table and some at the bottom. Yet the ruling class accepts their terms which lead to destruction. Will challenge the debt and IMF system.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that electricity bills will be reduced and they will not be allowed to run away. Congratulations, 77 paise per unit of electricity has been reduced, but they have not come to collect groundnuts. Will take out caspetti charges first, all homework done. After every day, they will hold rallies and sit-ins in every city. I will call for a strike rather a nationwide paha jam but it will happen after August 14.
