Islamabad: The appeal against the acquittal of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Iddat case has been sent to the Chief Justice Islamabad.
The appeals against the acquittal of the founding chairman of PTI and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Iddat case were heard by Additional Judge of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Azam Khan, in which Zahid Asif Chaudhry, Iqbal Kakar and others appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner Khawar Maneka, while Ali Bukhari, Shoaib Shaheen, Niazullah Niazi and others appeared on behalf of the founder of PTI.
Zahid Asif Chaudhry told the court that we have challenged the acquittal decision of the Additional Sessions Judge of July 13, 2024. On this occasion, Shoaib Shaheen said that before giving arguments, we want to say something. You have disclosed your mind first, the case should be transferred to another bench.
Justice Azam Khan remarked on Shoaib Shaheen’s statement that we had heard a review petition against an order. We send the file to the Chief Justice to constitute a new bench.
Later, the court sent the file of the appeal against the acquittal of the founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi to the Chief Justice. This case has been sent to Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Amir Farooq to constitute a new bench.
