The local court of Islamabad has reserved the decision on the bail application of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), for the extent of one case, and the presence of the former prime minister on bail in 6 cases has been confirmed by video link to the jail superintendent. The former first lady cried in the courtroom during the hearing.
In the Islamabad District Sessions Court, a bail application was heard in a case against founder PTI 6 and Bushra Bibi, Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka conducted the hearing.
During the hearing, the judge remarked that founder PTI had to appear through video link, direct the Central Jail authorities to produce Imran Khan through video link, former prime minister and Bushra Bibi’s lawyer Salman Safdar requested. That if the court gives a strict order to the extent of founder PTI, only then founder PTI will be presented through video link.
He argued that by the time founder PTI appears, I will give arguments against Bushra Bibi on 442, it has been one and a half years, you are thinking why are you giving arguments today because the investigation took place in the courtroom today. In this case, there will be five accused including founder PTI, Bashri Bibi, Farah, Shahzad Akbar, only two accused have requested bail, the rest have not.
Lawyer Salman Safdar said that it was alleged that the accused had committed fraud and gave fake receipts. The judge asked the lawyer that there is a single word (presented) m in it. Lawyer Salman Safdar said that the prosecution will tell. Asked to inform the prosecution, he said that he presented it, the prosecutor said that he also presented it to the Election Commission.
The judge remarked that for a year and a half you have investigated what has happened, the judge inquired that your allegation is that the receipt is fake and you have submitted, where have you submitted the evidence, the prosecutor said that the page like I also submitted the letter to the Election Commission, the judge inquired whether you will be the Election Commission, what did he say?
The prosecutor said that the election commissioner said it was presented in the Tosha Khana, the judge expressed anger at the prosecutor and said, “What did you investigate, if I follow the law, who are you to file the case, where did you present the fake receipt?” So give proof.
