Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that I will not allow further losses in institutions that are wasting public resources.
A review meeting on the task management system created for the privatization process of government institutions and its monitoring was held in Islamabad, which was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. While reviewing the task management dashboard, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that everyone should work together for the development of Pakistan. I will not allow further losses in institutions that are wasting the valuable resources of the Pakistani people.
He said that the privatization of national institutions is part of the government’s Udan Pakistan initiative. The government’s job is not to do business, but to provide policy measures and facilities for business and investment. Only with timely necessary reforms are we moving rapidly towards improving the economy.
The Prime Minister said that the privatization process of the specified institutions should be accelerated without compromising on transparency. The services of reputable lawyers should be taken to remove legal obstacles in the privatization process. I am personally monitoring the privatization process and will not accept any kind of delay.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister was presented with a review of the task management system created for privatization and was also informed about the specific period for privatization of various institutions.
The meeting was informed that the privatization of federal government institutions has been divided into 3 phases. In the first phase, 10 institutions, in the second phase, 13, while in the third phase, the privatization of the remaining institutions will be ensured.
The Prime Minister directed to expedite the privatization process and ensure the completion of the privatization process within the specified period.
Federal Ministers Abdul Aleem Khan, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Ahad Khan Cheema and relevant senior officials attended the meeting.
