Tel Aviv: Human rights organizations have filed a petition with the Israeli Supreme Court against the Israeli government’s ban on delivering aid to Gaza.
According to Arab media, five non-governmental and human rights organizations have requested the court to issue an immediate order to lift the ban on aid to Gaza.
The human rights organization Gisha said in a statement on social media that Israel has once again tightened control over Gaza’s entry points and is using food, medicine and other essential aid as a weapon of war.
The organization added that withholding aid to two million Palestinians, half of whom are children, is a clear violation of human rights and a war crime.
It should be noted that the first phase of the ceasefire in Gaza ended on Saturday, after which Israel announced a conditional extension of the temporary ceasefire. The Israeli government demanded that Hamas release more hostages, but Hamas refused to do so without a second phase of the ceasefire.
Following Hamas’ refusal, Israel completely blocked all aid supplies from entering Gaza, raising fears that the humanitarian crisis there would worsen.
