As a result of an attack on police and FC and firing on a vehicle in the Upper Kurram area of Kurram Agency district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud and 3 FC personnel were injured, who were shifted to the operation theater of a local hospital.
In Lower Kurram, an exchange of fire is ongoing between the parties, during which the police and FC were also attacked. The head of the district administration, Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud, who was going to bring peace and build roads in the area, was also injured, who was shifted to Tehsil Alizai Hospital.
As of last reports, heavy firing was going on in the area between Bagan and Alizai in Upper Kurram.
DC Kurram Javedullah Mehsud was shifted to the operation theater of the Tehsil Hospital, and 3 FC personnel were also injured in the firing incident, who were shifted to the hospital.
Police officials say that the Deputy Commissioner had gone to Bagan to clear the roads for a convoy of trucks carrying relief supplies.
It should be noted that 50 people were killed in a firing on a passenger convoy in the Bagan Charkhel area on November 21, after which the situation became tense in the Upper Kurram, Bagan and Parachinar areas of Kurram Agency, during which several dozen people were killed in armed clashes between the parties.
Two days ago, a peace agreement was reached between the parties through the efforts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and local tribal elders, after which this morning the provincial government sent relief supplies to Kurram in 75 trucks. The Deputy Commissioner went to restore the roads for the same relief supply convoy and himself became the target of firing.
