PESHAWAR: The High Court, while hearing a case related to missing persons, has remarked that the government will provide compensation to the families of those who have been missing for more than 5 years.
The cases of 13 missing persons were heard by Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, in which the court sought reports from the federal and provincial governments.
Chief Justice Peshawar High Court remarked during the hearing that the government will compensate the families of missing persons for more than 5 years. The court inquired that this was also the case in the UN Convention, what happened to it, did the government compensate the affected families?
On the court’s inquiry, the Deputy Attorney General replied that he will submit a report on this at the next hearing.
Later, the court adjourned the hearing while seeking a report from the federal and provincial governments.
