Adviser to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that the government has only indicated its intention to ban PTI.
Shahbaz Sharif’s adviser while talking to a private TV channel said that the government can issue a declaration to ban any party under Article 17. If the cabinet approves, the declaration will be submitted to the Supreme Court.
Rana Sanaullah said that the declaration is presented in the Supreme Court in 15 days. If the Supreme Court also agrees with the declaration, this party will be banned.
He further said that the procedure given in the constitution will be followed.
It should be noted that recently Information Minister Atta Tarar said that the federal government will file a case in the Supreme Court to ban PTI. It also plans to prosecute Imran Khan and former President Arif Alvi for treason.
