Islamabad: The government has decided to move forward with the PTI negotiations. The fourth meeting of the negotiation committees is likely to be convened next week after the government coalition’s negotiation committee prepares a joint action plan.
According to sources, PML-N members in the government negotiation committee have met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Rana Sana and Senator Irfan Siddiqui formally briefed the Prime Minister about PTI’s demands in the meeting and sought guidance for the future.
According to sources, the Prime Minister directed the committee to continue the negotiations as it is and to form a common position with the members of the remaining six coalition parties.
Sources say that all members of the government negotiation committee will meet soon and prepare their action plan regarding PTI’s demands.
Farooq H. Naik from the PPP and Azam Nazir Tarar from the government will also give their reports to the committee.
After the government committee prepares a joint position, the fourth meeting of the negotiating committees may be convened on January 27 or 28.
