National team’s white ball captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan will not be available for Canada’s Global T20 League.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not allowed white ball captains Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who represent Vancouver Knights in the Global T20 League, to play in the tournament, besides the request of other cricketers including Shaheen Afridi has also been rejected.
Vancouver Knights have hired Australian batsman Usman Khawaja to replace team captain Mohammad Rizwan while South African cricketer Reza Hendricks will represent the franchise in place of Babar Azam.
The only Pakistani player in the Vancouver Knights squad is Mohammad Amir, who played the tournament opener against the Toronto Nationals.
The PCB declined to issue NOCs to the three cricketers after consulting the selection committee in view of the busy schedule of 2024-25.
