A grand Global Destinations Expo was held at the Marriott Hotel Islamabad under the auspices of Discover Pakistan and the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC).
Islamabad : A grand Global Destinations Expo was held at the Marriott Hotel Islamabad under the auspices of Discover Pakistan and the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC).More than fifty embassies and foreign delegates from around the world participated enthusiastically.
Global Destinations Expo :
The expo was inaugurated jointly by Discover Pakistan’s CEO Dr. Qaiser Rafiq, PTDC’s Managing Director Aftab ur Rehman Rana, and Romania’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Dan Stoenescu, along with ambassadors from several other countries.
Various embassies set up special stalls at the event, where participating countries showcased their culture, arts, handicrafts, and tourism heritage in an impressive manner. International traditional cuisines were a major attraction for attendees, offering them a remarkable opportunity to experience global flavors and cultural diversity.
Global Destinations Expo :
The Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Tourism, Sardar Yasir Ilyas, was the chief guest. At the closing ceremony of the expo, Sardar Yasir Ilyas distributed shields among the delegates from different countries and termed the event an important milestone for Pakistan’s tourism industry. He said that this international expo is a significant step toward promoting tourism in Pakistan. It will not only strengthen the country’s tourism sector but also provide the Pakistani people with an excellent opportunity to learn about the tourism, culture, and unique features of various countries.
Speaking on the occasion, Romania’s Ambassador Dr. Dan Stoenescu said that such international events strengthen ties between Pakistan and other nations and play an important role in projecting a positive image of Pakistan.
Global Destinations Expo :
Aftab ur Rehman Rana, MD PTDC, in his remarks appreciated the team of Discover Pakistan TV and PTDC to arrange this mega tourism expo aiming to promote bilateral tourism and best practices of tourism sector from different countries. He said, we believe in promoting people to people contact through tourism and that is the reason that today we have equal participation of international community and Pakistani stakeholders in this expo.
Discover Pakistan’s CEO, Dr. Qaiser Rafiq, presented bouquets to the guest delegations and informed them about Pakistan’s tourism potential and cultural heritage. In his address, he expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for supporting tourism initiatives. He also thanked the foreign ambassadors and announced that an even larger expo will be held next year.
