Islamabad / Rawalpindi: During the tragedy of May 9, the details of the challan in the GHQ attack case have come to light, a total of 27 serious provisions have been imposed on the accused including PTI founder Imran Khan.
According to the challan, the accused attacked the GHQ under the leadership of former provincial law minister Raja Bisharat, broke the gate while storming, resisted the army men and vandalized. Sensitive military properties were vandalized and set on fire, attacked with sticks and stones, petrol bombed.
The accused broke the GHQ gate and entered, the country was created to riot, the windows of the GHQ building were broken. The reputation of Pakistan Army was damaged, military personnel were attacked. Slogans were raised against the country and the forces. The ISI building was attacked, the demonstration was carried out under organized criminal conspiracy, 6 accused were arrested on the spot and more arrests were made on identification.
In the challan, it was requested that the accused be punished severely. 3 promissory witnesses of the case, former MNA Sadaqat Abbasi, former Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi and former MPA Umar Tanveer Butt have defected and filed applications.
On the other hand, Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the Special Anti-Terrorism Court adjourned the hearing of the GHQ attack case till October 30 and indicted 28 accused including former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Usman Dar, Amjad Niazi, Raja Basharat. Therefore, they distributed the copies of the challan, while the founder chairman did not get a copy due to the lack of a jail trial, due to which the indictment was postponed even from being imposed on the next date.
The lawyers of founder PTI Imran Khan filed applications in the court regarding telephone conversations with sons, meeting of lawyers and medical examination. The court completed the hearing of the three applications and reserved the decision.
Anti-Terrorism Court Administrative Judge Raja Jawad Abbas extended PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja’s interim bail till October 28 in the case filed for protesting outside the Supreme Court.
Additionally, the hearing of PTI founder sisters Aleema and Uzma’s bail pleas was adjourned till October 22 without proceeding as the judge was on leave.
