Lahore – As part of the ongoing crackdown against gas theft, SNGPL has intensified its raids across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, disconnecting 76 illegal connections and imposing fines amounting to Rs 4.9 million.
In Lahore, 21 illegal gas connections were disconnected, with fines totaling Rs 1.22 million imposed for gas theft. In Faisalabad, six illegal connections were cut off, and Rs 0.04 million in fines were levied. The Sheikhupura team disconnected six illegal connections and imposed a substantial fine of Rs 3.52 million.
In Bahawalpur, seven connections were disconnected for illegal gas use, while an additional seven were disconnected for using gas compressors. Similarly, in Multan, 19 connections were severed for illegal use, with nine more disconnected due to compressor usage. In Sahiwal, Rs 0.05 million in fines were imposed for gas theft, while in Gujranwala, one connection was disconnected, and fines amounting to Rs 0.09 million were imposed.
