Islamabad: Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has left for Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, to attend the funeral of Prince Karim Aga Khan.
On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb will represent the Government of Pakistan at the funeral of Prince Karim Al-Husseini Aga Khan IV. He will also attend the prayer ceremony held for the deceased.
Prince Karim Al-Husseini Aga Khan IV passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 88, in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. His son Rahim Al-Husseini has been appointed as the new spiritual leader of the Ismaili community.
Prince Karim Aga Khan sponsored various educational, cultural and economic development projects during his life, which worked to improve the lives of millions of people.
The government of Pakistan has announced a day of mourning across the country on February 8, during which the national flag will fly at half-mast.
