Washington: A US judge has temporarily blocked Donald Trump’s order to change his birthright citizenship, which was due to take effect in February.
The judge ruled the order was clearly unconstitutional – the president says he will appeal the decision.
Federal Judge John Garner ruled in a lawsuit filed by the Washington state attorney general that it violates the US Constitution and that no president has the authority to issue an executive order that violates the constitution.
On his third full day as president, Trump ordered the release of files related to the deaths of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.
In addition, Trump has pardoned 23 anti-abortion activists, according to the British news agency. The president is going to sign more executive orders in the Oval Office.
It should be noted that while addressing the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump said that Canada could avoid tariffs if it chose to become a state of the United States.
