Islamabad: Analyst Shahbaz Rana said that the government has decided to withdraw the additional 15 percent tax imposed on commercial banks.

The Ministry of Finance will now take as much loan as it wants without any penalty on this bank, he said that the Chairman FBR’s claim of 1600 billion tax on citizens is basically based on the assumption that the lifestyle of some Pakistanis is such that they should pay a certain amount of tax but they do not.
Analyst Kamran Yousuf said that in the next few days, President Asif Ali Zardari will issue a presidential ordinance in which it has been decided to abolish the additional 15 percent tax imposed on commercial banks.
This decision has been decided as a result of a deal reached with the banks, under which the government is withdrawing the 15 percent additional tax that it had imposed on banks.
This week, the Chairman FBR claimed that there are 2.7 million people in Pakistan who are liable to pay Rs1.6 billion in taxes but they do not pay them.
