Wasim Akram, who is currently in Australia as a commentator for Star Sports, was the target of abuse from a fan immediately after signing an autograph.
The incident was non-racist in nature, but the motive is not yet clear. Cricket Australia has indicated that it will tighten security arrangements to prevent such incidents.
Commentators will now be given the option to pick up from inside the stadium via vehicles to ensure their safety.
