MUMBAI: Legendary Indian hip-hop singer Badshah has created a new history by becoming the first Indian artist to be named in Spotify’s list of top 10 most followed global hip-hop artists.
This feat marks a milestone for Indian hip-hop, which has made its mark globally.
Sidhu Musewala, who was murdered in 2022, is also included in this list and his name comes in the top 5. The success of Moosewala proved how profoundly influential his music was on a global scale.
Expressing his thoughts on this momentous occasion, Badshah said, “It’s like a dream that Indian hip-hop was an underground movement until a few years ago, and today we stand alongside the biggest names in the world.” Sidhubhai is always missed, but we will continue his legacy and continue to represent our culture around the world.
Also, another proof of Badshah’s popularity is his new song Soulmate, which is part of his third album Ek Tha Raja and has received over 100 million streams.
