Lahore: A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has been formed to investigate the issue of spreading unconfirmed news of rape of a female student of a private college on social media.
The Punjab Home Department constituted a JIT to investigate the matter. JITSSP Investigation has been constituted under the chairmanship of Mohammad Naveed. The six-member team includes three police officers and three representatives of sensitive institutions. The Joint Investigation Committee will investigate the case registered at Defense A Police Station
In the investigation, those who encourage anti-state incitement on social media will be identified and those who damage the girl’s reputation on social media will also be traced. SSP Muhammad Naveed convened the first meeting of the joint investigation committee today.
