The 2025 report of the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFIN) has been published, FAFIN has declared the Punjab government more transparent than the federal government.
FAFIN has presented a report based on the level of transparency of the performance of institutions in Punjab and the report covers 253 government institutions.
The report says that 43 departments of the Punjab Secretariat, 27 attached departments, 147 autonomous institutions, 23 government companies and 13 institutions were reviewed.
According to the FAFIN report, federal ministries are disclosing an average of 42 percent of information and the level of transparency of the Punjab government is better than the federal government.
The report says that 61 percent of the information of Punjab institutions is actively available as per legal requirements and the subsidiary institutions in Punjab are providing up to 52 percent of the information on websites.
The report revealed that most of the Punjab’s sub-districts provided less than 50 percent of the information on their websites.
