Karachi: The export of Toyota vehicles manufactured in Pakistan has been started, in this regard a special ceremony was held at the plant of Indus Motors Company.
Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain attended the event as the chief guest who was welcomed by the CEO of the company Ali Asghar Jamali. In the ceremony, the federal minister was given a detailed briefing regarding the investment and export strategy in the plant.
Speaking on this occasion, the Federal Minister said that it is a matter of great pride. I heartily congratulate the company on the start of export. The company has crossed an important milestone. 64% localization is commendable and represents the commitment of the industry.
He said that the commitment of the company for the development of the industrial sector by using local components is commendable. The company has increased the capacity to produce 7 thousand vehicles with an investment of 700 million dollars. The company’s production of hybrid vehicles is a sustainable solution for environmental protection and transportation in the country. The export of vehicles manufactured by Indus Motors is very pleasing, it is hoped that the export will increase in the future.
Speaking at the event, CEO Indus Motors Ali Asghar Jamali said that the export of Toyota vehicles from Pakistan was the dream of Group Chairman Ali S Habib. Today is the day in the name of Ali S Habib and the Indus team. For 5 months, the federal minister gave a lot of encouragement, which made the export possible. SIFC also supported the industry. Exports will increase along with the government. A long-term policy is needed for the development of the industry. Indus’ exported workforce has been rated as the best in the world by Toyota Japan.
