Islamabad:Consequent to the complaint filed by the Group Head of Bank Al-Falah Bank Ltd, FIA Karachi conducted an exhaustive criminal Inquiry against Atif Mohammad Khan, former CEO of Al-Falah Securities CLSA Pvt Ltd, which is a subsidiary of Bank Al-Falah Ltd. The inquiry proceedings unambiguously substantiated that Atif Mohammad Khan embezzled Rs 540 million from Al-Falah Securities CLSA Pvt Ltd by misusing his position as its CEO and committed such acts which constituted criminal breach of trust, falsification of accounts and books, fraud and forgery. Hence, he was arrested on 08th March 2025 as per the code of criminal procedure after lodging FIR against him in Corporate Crime Circle of FIA Karachi Zone. He is being investigated in connection with the offences attracted in the case. After the arrest of accused Atif Mohammad Khan, on 11th March 2025 some fraudster using photo of a senior FIA official as DP made a WhatsApp call to Ms Nadia Hussain, wife of accused Atif Mohammad Khan, and demanded bribe from her. Upon this, when Ms Nadia Hussain contacted FIA Karachi, she was alerted that it was a hoax call. She was further advised to report it immediately to FIA Cyber Crime Reporting Centre (CCRC) Karachi. However, she chose otherwise and restored to her social media account to hurl unfounded and baseless allegations against FIA officials, which is a cognizable offence under the law. In this regard, an inquiry under the PECA has been initiated in FIA Cyber Crime Karachi against Ms Nadia Hussain, and it shall soon meet its logical conclusion on merits as per the law.
