Lahore: The Election Amendment Act 2024 was challenged in the Lahore High Court.
Federal Government, Election Commission, President and Prime Minister have been made parties in the petition filed by citizen Mushkur Hussain in Lahore High Court. It has been argued in the petition that 4 amendments were made in the Election Act to overturn the decision of the Supreme Court.
As per the petition, the amendment act was passed without discussion and approval of the concerned committee. It is requested from the court that section 1, 2, 3, 4 of the Election Act 2024 should be declared invalid and the implementation of the amendment act should be stopped until the final decision of the petition.
