Karachi: Member of National Assembly and MQM leader Hassan Sabir Advocate has said that dumpers are crushing citizens, but no action is being taken and the reason for this is their government’s financial support, the PPP government has pushed the city of Quaid towards destruction.
Talking to the media at the High Court, Hassan Sabir Advocate said that the case of the murder of MQM worker Faraz was registered during the election campaign. Justice was not delivered by the special anti-terrorism court, the accused were acquitted. An appeal filed against the acquittal against the decision of the subordinate court was heard in the Sindh High Court and the High Court has set a date for February 27. Verses have been written at the entrance of the High Court, the meaning of which is close to justice and piety, decisions are being made but justice is not seen in them.
He said that even cases of murder are not given due attention, the PPP has shown its strength here too and has influenced the investigation. The police say there is no evidence. Someone has killed Faraz, who is it? We expect the High Court to pay attention to this case.
On the arrest of Afaq Ahmed, Hassan Sabir said that the dumper mafia is under the patronage of the government and a powerful person who speaks out for the citizens is in custody. Dumpers are crushing the citizens, but no action is being taken. If you do a medical examination of the dumper drivers, most of them will be found to be drug addicts. Even during the day, dumpers and heavy traffic are roaming on every road. Look at the condition of the roads and the heavy traffic on it. It is the stubbornness of the Sindh government that heavy vehicles roam around the city outside their scheduled hours. The government has put the traffic police on commission. Issue challans and earn commission, whether an officer or a soldier is engaged in the business of commission.
Earlier, the High Court heard an appeal against the acquittal of the accused in the murder case of MQM worker Faraz Sheikh. The appellant’s lawyer argued that the lower court had acquitted the accused by ignoring the evidence, so the acquittal of the accused should be declared null and void. The lawyers of the accused submitted their legal papers, while the court adjourned the hearing of the appeal till February 27.
The Anti-Terrorism Court had acquitted 7 workers of the PPP, including Rao Saeed and Abdul Waheed. Faraz Sheikh was murdered on January 29, 2024. The murder case is registered at Gulbahar police station on the complaint of MNA Ahmed Saeed Siddiqui.
