KARACHI: Senior Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has said that disposal of pending cases is the need of the hour, so try mediation first before approaching the courts. He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural seminar of the Reconciliation Forum Center.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said that I am happy that the work has started to improve the judicial justice system, here the collaboration of judiciary in the premises of business school is a good initiative.
He said that we need to reduce the burden of pending cases, currently 2.4 lakh cases are pending in courts, 24 thousand cases are pending in High Courts and 38 thousand cases are pending in Sessions Courts.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said that in the presence of 8,000 judges, the pending of such cases cannot be removed.
So I would suggest that people from business sector should approach conciliation forum, you yourself should approach this mediation platform and try mediation first before approaching courts.
He said that there is no rocket science in this, it is a common culture in Singapore, where cooperative sector issues are resolved at home in arbitration forum.

Issues can be resolved through global partners and agreements. We will also try to include it in legal education, so that we can get awareness in this regard as well.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said that experts, people from cooperative sector can play their role in this. We have agreements with China, we can resolve these issues through arbitration, the Chinese do not like to delay any investment agreements.
He said that China is a friend of Pakistan and it wants to give mutual business opportunities here, we have to move forward which can work for the economy and the betterment of the country. So we should not delay it.
