Islamabad: Political differences between the ruling party PML-N and PPP came to light in the National Assembly.
The PPP refused to cooperate until the Prime Minister came to the House and sought assurance of fulfilling promises on pending matters.
According to sources, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif telephoned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and informed him about the PPP’s complaint regarding the quorum, after which Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq also met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Ayaz Sadiq raised the issue of lack of interest of government members and said that the members do not want to sit in the House, he requested the Prime Minister to take notice.
After negotiations in the Speaker’s Chamber, the government assured the Prime Minister to come to the House on Tuesday.
Syed Naveed Qamar said that the PPP does not want to boycott the House, but the government should resolve the issue of quorum, we were repeatedly promised that the Prime Minister would come to the House but he did not.
Naveed Qamar said that if the Prime Minister comes to the House, the quorum problem will end. At least he should be present enough to allow the proceedings of the House to proceed.
