Roots International Education Group and the Metropolitan International University College (MIUC), in collaboration with the Institute for Regional Studies, successfully hosted the Dialogue Series on “US South Asia Policy under Trump 2.0” on Friday, December 13, 2024, in Islamabad. True to their mission of empowering students with global perspectives, Roots International and MIUC once again provided an unparalleled platform for intellectual engagement and meaningful discourse, bridging students with leading policymakers, diplomats, and scholars to explore critical regional and international issues.
The dialogue delved into Trump’s first-term policies and their implications for South Asia, offering insights into the opportunities they present for Pakistan in trade, education, and innovation.Guest speakers included :

Wade Thames, Senior Defence Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan; Ambassador Maciej Pisarski, Ambassador of Poland in Pakistan; Dr. Hassan Abbas, a distinguished professor from the NESA Centre in Washington D.C.; Mr. Zahid Hussain, journalist and author at Dawn Media; Mr. Anssi Cullberg, Councilor at the Finland Embassy in Pakistan; Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Ms. Riffat Fatima, Human Rights Officer at the Embassy of Portugal.
