Karachi: Sindh Seed Corporation has decided to produce fruit, oilseed and vegetable seeds, Seed Corporation has also developed a new app.
Under the chairmanship of Minister of Agriculture Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr, a meeting was held to review the plan made for bringing new reforms in the Sindh Seed Corporation. Secretary Agriculture Rafiq Ahmad Barro, MD Seed Corporation Mushtaq Soomro, DGs Nadeem Shah, Shahab Abaro, Mazhar Careo and others participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, MD Mushtaq Ahmad Soomro presented a sequential plan for reforming the Seed Corporation
A plan has been made to reform the SEED Corporation, which will be presented to the Sindh Cabinet.
MD Mushtaq Soomro said in a briefing to the Minister of Agriculture that 7 out of 12 inactive agricultural farms and seed processing plants have been activated within 20 days, he also presented a plan of 500 million income and 200 million expenditure within two years. Seed processing plants at Gaya, three Skrund and two at Ghotki have also been activated.
The meeting was informed in the briefing that two mobile units have also been set up by the Seed Corporation which will give awareness to the farmers in the rural areas.
Agriculture Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mehr directed Seed Corporation to make 1500 acres of uninhabited agricultural land cultivable within two years.
Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr said that seeds should be provided to farmers of Sindh at affordable prices and other seed plants should also be activated to provide high quality seeds to the farmers so that they can get maximum production.
It was informed in the meeting that the new app of Seed Corporation was prepared, 7 agricultural farms and seed processing plant were also activated. It was decided in the meeting that fruit, oil seed and vegetable seeds will also be produced under Sindh Seed Corporation.
