A decision has been taken to outsource rural health centers across Punjab.
Important decisions related to the health sector were taken in a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was informed in a briefing that the ratio of patients in health centers has increased threefold, 225 RHCs have been converted into new clinics after the renovation was completed.
Facilities on par with big hospitals will be provided in the health centers, general surgery, gynecology, diagnostics and medical test facilities will also be available here, the new clinics will remain open 24 hours a week after outsourcing rural health centers.
The meeting agreed to establish a burn unit, cardiac center and children’s ward at the district level in the province. The proposal to establish a medical city at the divisional level for the treatment of every disease was also reviewed in the briefing given in the session.
The briefing informed that the revamping of 766 out of 1147 health centers in Punjab has been completed, free medicines worth more than 6.7 billion rupees were provided in OPDs across Punjab, it was informed that 12,671 applications have been received for the Maryam Nawaz Community Health Inspector Program.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister of Punjab directed the construction and expansion of the connection roads of Murree General Hospital, and also issued instructions to make the OPD functional in the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Sargodha by June.
The Chief Minister also gave instructions to make Jinnah Hospital PIC-2 functional by September 30 and Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital functional within the stipulated period, Maryam Nawaz also gave orders for the early completion of the nomination of the Board of Governors and other matters.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that the goal is to bring 100 percent improvement in government hospitals in Punjab. The lack of cleanliness in government hospitals is a sad and painful matter. She said that modern equipment is being provided in Punjab hospitals in a phased manner.
