ISLAMABAD: The deadlock between the government and the People’s Party on the issue of budget remains, while the People’s Party has apologized for its unconditional support until the demands are accepted.
According to the sources, the meeting held between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari yesterday was not productive, on which PPP has apologized for unconditional support of the budget until the demands are approved.
Sources say that the government was not assured by the PPP to participate in the budget meeting and vote on the budget. PPP is in the previous position regarding the demands. The government has not given any deadline to the PPP regarding the approval of the demands.
Meanwhile, according to the sources, PPP’s decision to participate symbolically in the budget meeting remains intact. The party has nominated 4 MNAs for today’s budget meeting. Shazia Murri, Nafeesa Shah, Mirza Akhtar Baig and Shaughta Jamani will attend the budget meeting.
On the other hand, the negotiation session of the government and the People’s Party will be held again today at the Prime Minister’s House. The meeting on the issue of power sharing of Punjab will be held today at 2 pm. The People’s Party committee includes Chairman St. Yusuf Raza Gilani, former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. Nadeem Afzal Chan and Ali Haider Geelani from Punjab will be part of People’s Party Committee.
Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Asif will be in the government committee. Punjab government will be represented in the committee by Rana Sanaullah and Khawaja Saad Rafiq.
