Curfew or some extreme steps may be taken in Islamabad, Interior Minister
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that we should not be forced to take extreme steps, the army may be called in Islamabad or a curfew may also be imposed.

Talking to the Islamabad media, Mohsin Naqvi said that PTI has been offered a place in Sangjani. According to my information, PTI has received approval from Adiala Jail.

He said that now it is not known whether there is any leader in PTI even above the founder who is not accepting it and we have not received a response yet. If Tehreek-e-Insaf applies for Sangjani, we will approve it. However, no one has ever received permission to protest in D-Chowk and will not give it.

He said that the security personnel are being fired upon, a Rangers jawan has just been shot at Chungi 26. By the way, a bullet is answered with a bullet, but we are taking steps very carefully.

Without naming the PTI, he warned that we should not be forced to take extreme measures, Article 245 may be imposed in Islamabad and a curfew may also be imposed, or we may take a third extreme measure. The Interior Minister made it clear that no one is allowed to protest, sit-in or hold a rally at D-Chowk, if anyone comes there, then they will be arrested.

Earlier, the Interior Minister visited D-Chowk and spoke to the officials posted there. During this, Sindh Police officials piled up complaints including non-provision of facilities in front of Mohsin Naqvi.

Sindh Police officials complained that it was cold and the arrangements were not complete, on which the Interior Minister took notice and issued strict instructions to the Interior Secretary, Chief Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and ordered them to resolve the complaint.

The Interior Minister said that officials coming from other provinces are our guests and providing them with facilities is our top priority. Sindh Police officials should be provided with warm clothes and jackets immediately. If our youth have facilities, they will be able to work better.

Meanwhile, talking to the media after offering the funeral prayers of a martyred official at the Police Lines, Mohsin Naqvi said that some time ago, the martyred official Mubashir attended the funeral, these people do not have even a single percent of the awareness, it has been two days since the protest call and they are still on the way.

He said that the President of Belarus has reached Pakistan safely and is in Islamabad, he tried to embarrass us at the global level yesterday too. The Interior Minister said that those responsible for the martyrdom and loss of the officials are the ones who gave the protest call, they will not spare anyone, there will be an FIR against everyone and now we will be seen under a different strategy.

Mohsin Naqvi clarified that there is no doubt that whoever comes to D-Chowk will be arrested, they come and we let them go, this cannot happen now. The Interior Minister said that if we had fired in response to their firing, they could not have crossed this Pattar Garh, they wanted a body to be found.

The Interior Minister said that among the officials injured in the stone-pelting and violence by the protesters is an SP, whose condition is critical and he has suffered head injuries.

He said that we could have given the protesters a similar response, but we did not allow the objective to be achieved because their objective is something else and our objective and effort is to protect the people and save lives.

The Interior Minister denied any talks with PTI and said that I have not spoken to anyone or had any meeting in Minister Enclave, you should wait for a while and then I will talk openly.

Mohsin Naqvi further said that the evidence of their planning will be brought to light in a few days, Barrister Gauhar has met in jail because he has his own internal problems, we are now waiting for the PTI’s response, after which we will talk openly.
