KARACHI: Former wicketkeeper Rashid Latif says that cricket has been turned into a business in India, while it is still a hobby in Pakistan.
He said that India developed its cricket industry like its film industry, we take cricket as a hobby, that’s why we could not convert it into a business.
The Pakistan Super League is still where it started, the highest salary cap is $1.40 million, why don’t we push it further? Why don’t we hire cricketers like Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, we don’t have enough money then this business is not done.
Indian franchises have hired players like Ricky Ponting, Mike Hussey and Dwayne Bravo as coaches, which has strengthened their cricket.
