Lahore: There was a major breakthrough in the alleged corruption reference in development projects, in which former Punjab Chief Minister and senior PTI leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was indicted in the NAB reference.

Pervaiz Elahi denied the charge, the court summoned witnesses for the next hearing.
The court staff completed Pervaiz Elahi’s attendance by going to the vehicle, Pervaiz Elahi signed the indictment sheet.
Earlier, a hearing was held on the corruption and kickbacks reference in Gujarat development projects against Pervaiz Elahi and others, Accountability Court Judge Zubair Shahzad Kiani heard the reference.
Pervaiz Elahi’s lawyers appeared in court. The court inquired where Pervaiz Elahi was. The lawyer replied that Pervaiz Elahi would reach by 11:30 am. After this, the court adjourned the proceedings.
The court has indicted Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Khalid Mahmood Chatta, Asif Mahmood, Naeem Iqbal, Muhammad Asghar and Asad Ali.
The accused present in the court were indicted after Pervaiz Elahi did not appear at the previous hearing.
Due to the delaying tactics of the accused, the court decided to indict them in two stages.
The court said that it was having a lot of difficulty in completing the attendance of the accused, and applications for exemption from attendance on medical grounds by Pervaiz Elahi and others continued to be filed.
The accused are accused of bribery and kickbacks in Gujarat development projects. The NAB reference said that Pervez Elahi and Moonis Elahi received kickbacks through Muhammad Khan Bhatti, among others. Former Principal Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti is Pervez Elahi’s front man. Muhammad Khan Bhatti got his favorite officers appointed in the Punjab Highway Department.
