Peshawar: After the restoration of law and order in Kurram district, the seventh major convoy of 76 freight vehicles has reached Parachinar carrying flour, sugar, ghee, fruits, vegetables, medicines and other daily necessities.
Police, district administration and security forces had taken strict measures to protect the convoy, and gunship helicopters were also used for surveillance. A large consignment of medicines was also delivered to Kurram.
In light of the instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Commissioner Kohat Mutasim Ballah Shah delivered 76 vehicles of food and beverage items to different areas of Kurram district on Friday. Under the supervision of DIG Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat and the Pakistan Army, the convoy of vehicles reached different areas of Kurram in complete security.
Commissioner Kohat and DIG Kohat had detailed discussions with the elders on the observance of the agreement, mutual cooperation and responsibilities while taking the convoy to Kurram.
The Health Advisor said in his statement that keeping in mind the urgent medical needs of the people of Upper Kurram, these medicines have been sent to Parachinar. This consignment of medicines weighing 1500 kg has been delivered to Parachinar in a single flight by a provincial government helicopter.
