Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has sought records of two different petitions on a contempt of court petition against the Secretary Home and Superintendent Adiala Jail for not allowing the founder of PTI to meet his friends despite the court order.
The court directed that the High Court’s order dated January 28, 2025, be attached with the petition.
Justice Inam Amin Minhas of the Islamabad High Court heard the petition of the founder of PTI with the objection of the Registrar’s Office.
Imran Khan’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry Advocate, while giving arguments, said that the Registrar’s Office is not authorized to decide whether the petition is admissible or not, only the court can exercise its powers regarding the admissibility of the petition.
Faisal Chaudhry Advocate said that the contempt of court has been filed for violation of court orders, a petition regarding the meeting of the founder PTI and Bushra Bibi is under hearing in the Chief Justice’s court, this petition has been filed for not allowing the founder PTI to meet his friends and this petition is not related to the petition under hearing in the Chief Justice’s court.
Faisal Chaudhry said that the Superintendent Adiala Jail had given a statement to arrange a meeting with Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq in the court, the court had disposed of the petition in light of the statement, but despite this assurance, the meeting was not arranged, a contempt of court petition has been filed as the ban on the meeting remains in place.
The court has adjourned the hearing, seeking the record of both the contempt of court petitions.
