KARACHI: During police encounters and search operations in Shahr Quaid, 11 suspects, including those who committed incidents wearing police uniform, were arrested.

In the exchange of fire with the Pak Colony Police, 3 suspects of the gang who were wearing police uniform were arrested and uniforms, 3 pistols and a Corolla car were recovered from their possession. Among the accused are Babar, Ghulam Ali and Raja Ali while the fourth accomplice Wajid escaped.

According to DIG South Asad Raza, the arrested accused belong to an inter-provincial gang that used to commit crimes across Sindh. The accused also stole an Alto car from Nooriabad 6 months ago wearing police uniform. Apart from this, the accused seized several cars and motorcycles from Faisal Highway and Baloch Colony and sold them in Balochistan.
The arrested suspects were wanted by the police in more than 36 incidents of snatching across Sindh, against whom a case has been registered and investigation has been started.

On the other hand, during the combing search operation in Khamisu Goth and Musa Colony, 2 suspects involved in street crime were arrested and weapons and a motorcycle were recovered from their possession. The campaign will continue from June 22 to 26.

Apart from this, the police arrested 6 suspects including 2 injured during the alleged encounters in different areas of the city and recovered weapons and motorcycles from their possession.

In the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, a dacoit was arrested in an injured condition, while his accomplice managed to escape in an exchange of fire between the police and dacoits near Kasbah Colony Paracha cemetery in Pirabad police station area. The arrested accused was identified as Saifullah son of Ahmed Khan, from whose possession weapons were also recovered.

Meanwhile, the Brigade Police arrested the accused Obaid Khan, son of Muhammad Kamil Khan, who was involved in the street crime incidents, one of whose accomplices managed to escape. The suspects were targeting the Foodpanda rider near Allahwala Pakwan on Shahrah-i-Quaidin by force of arms.

Aziz Bhatti Police arrested 2 street criminals Khurram son of Khalid and Nizamuddin son of Shabir Ahmed after conducting an operation near Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 10 Nazrah Pool and recovered illegal weapons used in the incidents from them. The accused was using a motorcycle without number 125 which was stolen from Shahrah-e-Faisal area at gunpoint. The case of the incident of which has been registered in charge no. 622/2024 under section 397/34 of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station.

Liaquatabad Police arrested the accused Shahid son of Umar Daraz Khan who was involved in the street crime incidents while conducting an operation near the Student Ground B1 area. A revolver 32 bore black loaded magazine with 3 live rounds was recovered from the possession of the accused. The investigation has been started by registering a case against the accused under Sindh Arms Act No. 333/2024.
