President Asif Zardari and Chinese Prime Minister have agreed to deepen strategic cooperation.
President Asif Zardari hosted a luncheon in honor of Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang who visited Pakistan to attend the meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Army Chief General Asim Munir also attended the luncheon.
Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang met President Asif Ali Zardari in which they reiterated their commitment to increase cooperation in important sectors including economy, investment and regional relations. And emphasized the need to speed up the implementation of CPEC projects.
The President emphasized the importance of finding new ways of cooperation between the two countries and said that friendship with China is an important part of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
The President said that there is more scope to expand Pakistan-China relations, Chinese companies should take advantage of investment opportunities in Pakistan, the time has come to benefit from Chinese economic development with the help of CPEC and Gwadar Port.
President Zardari further said that he will visit China in November, looking forward to establishing contact with old friends, to hold talks to strengthen relations.
Expressing his heartfelt condolences over the death of 2 Chinese citizens in the terrorist attack, the President of the country said that the heartbreaking incident has caused suffering for the entire nation, the enemies are trying to spoil relations by targeting the Chinese citizens, the enemies are using their nefarious efforts. I will not succeed.
The President expressed Pakistan’s determination to give exemplary punishment to the criminals and said that the Chinese will take all measures to increase the security of the citizens.
Apart from this, President Zardari thanked China for Pakistan’s support on the Kashmir issue and reiterated China’s support on all core issues including Tibet, South China Sea.
On this occasion, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said that Pakistan and China are good brothers, neighbors, partners and friends. China will continue to support Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and prosperity.
The Chinese Prime Minister said that he recognizes the services of President Asif Zardari in the promotion of Pakistan-China relations, both countries have continuously supported each other regardless of global challenges, and continue to cooperate to take the Pakistan-China partnership to new heights. will
Li Chiang emphasized the need to speed up the progress of development projects under CPEC and said that he will continue to support Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan, hoping that Pakistan-China relations will continue to strengthen in the future.
The Chinese Premier praised Pakistan for its support on the “One China” policy, Tibet and the South China Sea, among other issues.
