Shaanxi: China has launched a group of satellites into space for the first time, aiming to improve broadband internet services across the Asian nation.
The group of 18 satellites was launched from the Taiwan Satellite Launch Center in northern China’s Shaanxi Province at 2:42 p.m. local time.
The satellites are attached to Shanghai Spacecom Satellite Technology’s Long March 6A rocket. 943 million dollars have been spent on this project.
The aforementioned launch was the 530th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series. The satellites comprise a low-Earth orbit communications mega-constellation aimed at improving and providing global Internet access.
According to launch service provider China Great Wall Industry Corporation, the satellites will provide customers with low-latency, high-speed and highly reliable satellite broadband Internet services.
