Lahore: Maryam Nawaz ordered to build barroom and day care centers for women lawyers.
Chief Minister Punjab ordered to build bar rooms and day care centers for women lawyers in three tehsils of the province. Earlier, women lawyers had requested the Supreme Court to set up ladies bar room and day care centers in view of the need.
Maryam Nawaz has directed the Department of Construction and Communications to take immediate steps to construct ladies bar rooms, after which the construction of ladies bar rooms in remote areas of Attock, Bahalingar and Lodhran has been initiated. The C&W department has prepared a standard map for ladies barrooms in all three tehsils.
The Chief Minister of Punjab says that it is very important for women lawyers to have basic facilities at the workplace. For women lawyers, consideration is being given to creating ladies bar rooms in other areas in a phased manner.
Advocate General Punjab Khalid Ishaq said in this regard that ladies bar rooms will be established in Jund, Fort Abbas and Dunyapur Tehsil Bar Associations. Day care centers will also be established for the convenience of women lawyers. A small kitchen will also be built for the convenience of women lawyers in Tehsil Bar Associations.
