The Chief Justice of Pakistan, while welcoming the transfer of judges in the High Court, has said that the issue of transfer of judges in the Islamabad High Court should not be muddied, the appointment and transfer of judges are two separate issues.
Addressing the swearing-in ceremony of the Press Association of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Yahya Afridi further said that judges from other provinces should also get a fair chance, the Islamabad High Court does not belong to any one person but to the whole of Pakistan.
The Chief Justice said that the judges should appreciate this initiative, those who came to the Islamabad High Court were not appointed as judges, they are already judges of the High Court, as the Chief Justice of Pakistan, my vision should be big.
Justice Yahya Afridi said that this trend should continue in the future as well. He added that the backlog of pending cases in the Supreme Court has to be eliminated. We need more judges in the Supreme Court. Every judge is independent and empowered. The entire load falls on 3-4 judges. I will use my jurisdiction without fear or danger.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Jamal Mandokhel attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Press Association of the Supreme Court. Justice Jamal Mandokhel administered the oath to the newly elected officials. On this occasion, the Chief Justice said that the Supreme Court will provide all possible facilities to reporters.
