TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has said that despite fundamental differences between Iran and the US, there are channels of communication.
According to a report by the Iranian state news agency Tasnim, Abbas Araqchi, speaking informally to the media during the weekly cabinet meeting in Tehran, said that the issue of differences between Iran and the US is fundamental and may never be resolved.
He said that we need arrangements to reduce costs and tensions.
The Iranian president pointed out that channels of communication between the US and Iran still exist.
He said that there was no justification for direct nuclear talks with the US last month.
Abbas Araqchi said that we do not see any way for these talks until we can end the current crisis.
Asked about the visit to Iran by International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi, he said that there has been a long-standing cooperation between Iran and the UN Atomic Energy Agency, although issues have also emerged during the meetings.
