The Islamabad High Court, while hearing the recovery petition of missing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker Faizan, remarked that the constitution should be changed, fundamental rights should be removed from it and the country should be run in the same way.
Islamabad High Court Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the case, Additional Attorney General Manoor Iqbal Dogal appeared before the court.
At the beginning of the hearing, the court inquired who is Faizan? The petitioner’s lawyer said that Faizan belongs to PTI media cell.
The court expressed strong anger in the dialogue with the Additional Attorney General and said that change the constitution, remove the fundamental rights from it, end our jurisdiction and run the country in the same way, I don’t know what the state wants to achieve. is You arrest him, we won’t say anything, but don’t run the country like this.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb said that Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, State are all happy with this, this is a cruel act, what should the constitutional courts do in this situation? The world is watching what the Pakistani courts are doing in missing persons cases, or else the world will invest here and people will be missing and the courts will not be able to do anything, the federal government means the prime minister and the federal cabinet. The responsibility ultimately falls on the executive head.
On this, the public prosecutor said that the petitioners did not knock the door of the court with clean hands, the court said that they did not file the petition with clean hands, so dismiss the petition? You want me to become a serving judge? These are dirty applicants, so we reject them, I don’t understand where you are taking us, Additional Attorney General tell me what should be done? If the government calls it a case of forced disappearance, then see who said it happened?
Earlier, the bench in which the case was heard has written that it is a case of enforced disappearance, the government needs to sit with the kidnappers on this matter.
On this, Additional Attorney General Amir Rahman said that we do not know who the kidnappers are.
The judge remarked that one of our fellow judges gave a strict order and the government’s propaganda machines started propaganda against him, I will pass the order in this case.
It may be recalled that on July 21, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf launched a social media campaign to draw the attention of the high courts to the abduction of social media activists and their close relatives across the country.
The party had posted pictures of 10 of its social media workers, including international media coordinator Ahmed Waqas Janjua, PTI coordinator Malik Rizwan Ahmed and his brother Malik Nauman Ahmed, social media activists Attaur Rahman, Farid Malik, Malik Faizan and Mudassar. Chaudhry, PTI leader Shahbaz Gul’s brother Ghulam Shabbir, social media activist Azhar Mashwani’s brother Zahoor Mashwani and Mazhar Mashwani.
