A proposal to hold India’s matches at two venues for the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled for next year in Pakistan has come up.
According to media reports, ICC broadcasters have suggested that holding India’s matches at two different venues will increase the value of the event, while holding all the matches at one venue will not create a good impression.
Reports say that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has no objection to hosting the matches at two venues and has suggested Rawalpindi as one of the venues based on the proposal.
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had initially proposed to hold the matches in India at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore so that broadcasters would have to travel less.
According to Indian media, the proposed schedule includes 3 matches in Lahore, India, in which Bangladesh will be played on February 20 and New Zealand on February 23.
The match between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled for March 1, while both teams are in the same group, which will feature New Zealand and Bangladesh.
