The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has planned to form 3 separate teams of Shaheens for practice matches.
To give the visiting teams participating in the Champions Trophy a chance to practice before the start of the mega event, the Pakistan Cricket Board has planned to form three separate squads of Shaheens.
Sources say that the Pakistan Shaheens teams will take the field against the teams participating in the Champions Trophy, due to which the domestic players will also get experience playing with international cricketers, while the visiting team will also be able to practice.
According to the board’s plan, one team of Pakistan Shaheens will play practice matches in Karachi, the other in Lahore and the third in Dubai.
On the other hand, the teams of New Zealand and South Africa participating in the Champions Trophy will get a chance to practice against Pakistan in a tri-nation series, this series will start from February 8 with the match between Pakistan and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, before the ICC Champions Trophy, the PCB will hold an opening ceremony after the upgrade of Gaddafi Stadium and National Stadium.
