Pakistan is likely to suffer a major setback before the match against India.
In the match played at the National Stadium Karachi yesterday, the aggressive opener of the national team, Fakhar Zaman, was injured on the boundary line while fielding, due to which he had to be out of the field for some time.
A statement issued by the board said that according to initial reports, Fakhar Zaman has sprained his muscle, but reports are being awaited, after which another cricketer can be made part of the squad in place of the opener.
The PCB has confirmed that opener Fakhar Zaman will not travel to Dubai with the team for the match against India due to injury.
Experienced Imam-ul-Haq is a strong contender to be included in the playing XI in the match against India due to opener Fakhar Zaman’s injury.
Meanwhile, the selectors are also considering the names of opener Abdullah Shafiq and young Mohammad Hurairah after Fakhar Zaman’s injury.
