The Lahore High Court has ruled that the caretaker government appointed NADRA chairman as per law.
The Lahore High Court has issued a written decision to declare the single bench order to remove NADRA chairman from office null and void, a two-member bench headed by Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal issued a sixteen-page decision.
The decision said that the caretaker government appointed NADRA chairman as per law, the caretaker government issued a notification of NADRA chairman under the powers granted by law.
It said that the elected federal government again notified the appointment of NADRA chairman in March, the petitioner did not challenge the notification of the elected federal government.
The Lahore High Court said that the elected federal government had also issued a notification to appoint NADRA chairman permanently, the federal government issued two notifications of appointment of NADRA chairman.
It was stated that the petitioner did not mention both the notifications in the petition, the basis of the petitioner’s petition is contrary to the facts, the court allows the appeal of the federal government, the court declares the decision of the single bench null and void.
