Lahore: The government of the Liberal Party leader, Justin Trudeau, has been in power in Canada for the past nine years. Due to some mistakes, the government has not been popular and on December 24, its popularity remained at only 20 percent.
Such a decline had never happened, while the contemporary Conservative Party recorded 43 percent. Then the newly elected US President Trump entered Canadian politics and created a stir with his controversial statements.
That Canadian goods would be taxed and Canada should become a US state, Trudeau had resigned from the party presidency by then, but he bravely responded to Trump’s threats.
The Liberal Party also adopted a bold stance, which was welcomed by the public. According to recent surveys, the Liberal Party’s popularity among the public has reached 38 percent, while the Conservatives’ have dropped to 37 percent. Thus, Trump breathed new life into the half-dead corpse of the ruling party.
