The Islamabad High Court has sent the petition against former first lady Bushra Bibi’s prison abuse to the Superintendent Adiala Jail.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer said that the registrar’s office raised objections on Bushra Bibi’s request, the first objection was that the superintendent of Adiala Jail is under the Punjab government, the second objection is that the Islamabad High Court was asked to take action against the Adiala Jail authorities. The application cannot be filed in the court.
On this, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb said that the objection to Bushra Bibi’s request on behalf of the office is based on malice, the accused is arrested in the NAB case from Islamabad, Adiala Jail Islamabad is the limit of the prisoners of Islamabad. Jail, the office is cautioned not to raise such frivolous objections in future applications.
Later, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb remarked that this petition should be placed before the Superintendent Adiala Jail as an application, ordered that the Superintendent Adiala Jail process the application according to law.
It should be noted that on August 8, the Islamabad High Court convicted former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi despite being acquitted in the Iddat Nikah case and not releasing the superintendent for ill-treatment in jail. The hearing on the petition against Adiala Jail was adjourned till August 12.
On July 13, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had included the arrest of Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the new Tosha Khana reference.
The NAB team headed by Deputy Director Mohsin Haroon had arrested Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in Adiala Jail.
According to the inquiry report of NAB, the new case is related to possession and sale of 10 valuable gifts including 7 watches.
Later, Bushra Bibi approached the Islamabad High Court regarding the ill-treatment during the arrest in the new Tosha Khana case.
