Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat recently opened up about the difficulties she faced in her early days in the industry.
In an interview, Mallika revealed that some Bollywood heroes used to call her at night to request a meeting and justify her bold characters crossing personal boundaries.
Maleeka Sherawat said that actors used to think that if they could play bold roles on screen, they could compromise with them off screen as well.
According to him, some heroes asked him to come to their rooms at night, to which he questioned, “Why at night?” They used to reply, “You do bold scenes, so what’s the problem with meeting at night?”
Recounting another unpleasant experience, Mallika said that while shooting for a film in Dubai, an actor knocked on her room door in the middle of the night and refused to come in, which Mallika vehemently refused. After this incident, the actor never worked with Malika again.
Mallika Sherawat, who made her Bollywood debut in 2002 with the film Jeena Sahra Mere Liye, shot to fame with the 2004 film Murder. She acted in films like Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Welcome and Wish, and also featured in Hollywood films Hiss and Politics of Love. She is soon making a comeback to the screen with Vicki Vidya Ka Vehwala video which also stars Rajkummar Rao and Thirupati Dumri.
